FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General questions

What style of photography do you use?

I use a combination of reportage style photography with some posed portraits. If you have a particular style in mind, I'll make sure we capture it.

What areas do you cover?

Pretty much anywhere. I'll even get on a plane to photograph weddings! Primarily, I am based in London but have captured wedding all over the UK and ever further a field in Sicily, the South of France and Lanzarote.

Do you provide bespoke quotes?

Yes, every wedding is unique so I can provide a completely tailored quote to suit all tastes and budgets.

Is there a minimum booking time?

Usually, I require a minimum booking of two hours in the week and three hours on the weekend, but I am always happy to consider other options.

Do you need a deposit?

Yes, because I get many requests for bookings on the same day, and if you decide to cancel I need to have a deposit to cover for the loss of business. The deposit is £250.

What equipment do you use?

I shoot in digital, using professional Canon equipment. I always have a second camera to allow me to quickly take different image styles, and for back-up.
I shoot in high-quality RAW colour, which means you can blow up pictures to poster size and not lose any quality. It also means I can create black and white or other versions of your favourite images.

Do you edit the images?

Yes. All the images are edited prior to you receiving them.

Can we keep all the images or do we have to pay you extra for this?

Unlike many wedding photographers I provide all the images on a private online gallery and all the rights are yours to keep and copy as much as you like.

Can I get prints?

Yes, I provide a cost-effective print service or you can download the images to get them printed yourself.

Can you supply thank you cards?

You can select an image from your wedding day which is printed onto card to send to all your guests. They are unique and individual to you

Do you provide albums?

Yes, I provide a range of album options, catering to all budgets.

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured. I also have a network of quality photographers who can provide back-up if I am unable to attend due to illness. Thankfully, this has never happened in the many years I've been doing wedding photography.

Practical questions

Contract

I have a simple contract which ensures there is no misunderstanding between the couple and photographer on the agreed terms and conditions.

Do I wear a suit and tie?

Yes, because I like to be formal for such occasions although the two large cameras I carry around with me mean that I should be a dead giveaway…

Food and soft drinks

It is appreciated that the couple provide a hot meal and soft drinks for the photographer whilst the wedding party and guests sit to eat. This usually comes under ‘crew meals’ at a small cost with your venue or caterer.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

I will shoot as much as practically possible and am very creative at making sure your shots come out the way you would like even if the sun hasn’t! It is nice to have shots inside the church and wedding reception venues will often have an indoor space to set up flash lighting if required to make the best of the situation.

After the wedding, what happens next?

I then edit and present your photographs in a private online gallery (normally producing between 500 and 800 shots) in colour and black & white
